From ‘The Oera Linda Book’ (suppressed Frisian folk history)

* Newer translation by Jan Ott

In Kashmir (around 600-593 B.C.) “A child was born there; his mother was the daughter of a king, and his father was a high priest…to hide the shame, it was taken out of the town to poor people… he taught the people NOT TO TOLERATE RICH MEN OR PRIESTS…NO ONE IS OBLIGED TO DO ANYTHING FOR ANOTHER unless it be out of goodwill… His first name was JESSOS (Yes-us)… the people called him KRISHNA (Kris-en), that is shepherd; and his Frisian friend called him BUDDHA (Buda) purse (pouch), because he had in his heart a treasure of love… he was obliged to flee from the wrath of the priests…they made images of Jessos and said that Jessos was a god… But when the priests fancy that they have entirely extinguished the light, all men shall see the truth…there shall exist no longer either priest or oppression.”

“The desire for wealth can never bring happiness. If wealth is acquired, there is great anxiety in the efforts to keep it. Wealth only increases one’s desire.” (Krishna)

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God… the Light appears in the darkness, and the darkness has not comprehended it.” (The Gospel of John)

“Your eye is the lamp of your body. If your eye is healthy, your whole body is full of light; but if it is not healthy, your body is full of darkness. Therefore consider whether the light in you is not darkness. If then your whole body is full of light, with no part of it in darkness, it will be as full of light as when a lamp gives you light with its rays.” (Jesus)

“As a man with eyes who carries a lamp sees all objects, so too with one who has heard the Moral Law. He will become perfectly wise.” (Buddha)

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” (Jesus)

“Those who have no accumulation, who eat with perfect knowledge, whose sphere is emptiness, signlessness, and liberation, are hard to track, like birds in the sky. Those whose compulsions are gone, who are not attached to food, whose sphere is emptiness, signlessness, and liberation, are hard to track, like birds in the sky.” (Buddha)

“Your father in heaven makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the righteous and on the unrighteous.” (Jesus)

“That great cloud rains down on all whether their nature is superior or inferior. The light of the sun and the moon illuminates the whole world, both him who does well and him who does ill, both him who stands high and him who stands low.” (Buddha)

“Love one another.” (Jesus)

“Let your thoughts of boundless love pervade the whole world.” (Buddha)

“Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.” (Jesus)

“Overcome anger by love, overcome evil by good. Overcome the miser by giving, overcome the liar by truth.” (Buddha)

“Truly I tell you, just as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.” (Jesus)

“If you do not tend to one another, then who is there to tend you? Whoever would tend me, he should tend the sick.” (Buddha)
